Seit 2003 läuft auf ABC die „Jimmy Kimmel Live!“ Late-Night-Show. Die Sendung wird von Montag bis Donnerstag im „El Capitan Theatre“ in Los Angeles, CA aufgezeichnet und landesweit ausgestrahlt.

In der vergangenen Woche zog die Show für einige Ausgaben an die amerikanische Ostküste um. Unter anderem begrüsste der 51jährige Talkmaster am 21. Oktober 2019 Bruce Springsteen im „Howard Gilman Opera House“ in New York City, NY. Der „Boss“ präsentierte sich in bester Laune und erzählte von seinem neuen Live-Album „Western Stars – Songs from the Film“.

Darüber hinaus war am 23. Oktober 2019 auf „CBS This Morning“ ein weiteres Interview mit Bruce Springsteen zu sehen. Moderatorin Gayle King besuchte Bruce Springsteen in seinem neuen Aufnahmestudio in Colts Neck in New Jersey.

“Western Stars – The Movie” läuft seit dem 25. Oktober 2019 in den amerikanischen Kinos. In Europa wurde der 83minütige Streifen erstmals im Rahmen des “BFI London Film Festival” am 11. Oktober 2019 präsentiert. Auch in Deutschland ist der Streifen in ausgewählten Kinos zu sehen. Termine können auf filmstarts.de eingesehen werden.

Western Stars – Songs from the Film (Album, 2019)

Zeitgleich mit dem Kinostart erschien der offizielle Soundtrack. Die Filmmusik enthält Live-Versionen aller Songs des „Western Stars“ Studioalbums sowie ein Cover von Glenn Campbells „Rhinestone Cowboy“.

Bruce Springsteen reiste in der vergangenen Woche nach Grossbritannien, um seinen Film „Western Stars“ zu promoten. Unter anderem war er am 10. Oktober 2019 in der BBC One Talkshow „Graham Norton Show“ zu Gast.

Tags darauf – 11. Oktober 2019 – erlebte er die Europapremiere seines Musikfilms im „Embankment Garden Cinema“ in London mit und stellte sich nach der Vorstellung den Fragen der Zuschauer und Pressevertreter.

“Western Stars – The Movie” wird ab dem 25. Oktober 2019 in den amerikanischen Kinos zu sehen sein. In Europa wurde der 83minütige Streifen erstmals im Rahmen des “BFI London Film Festival” am  11. Oktober 2019 präsentiert. In Deutschland wird der Film in ausgewählten Lichtspielhäusern gezeigt. Termine können auf filmstarts.de eingesehen werden.

Der amerikanische Musikkritiker, Autor und Moderator Dave Marsh sowie Thom Zimny – seines Zeichens Regisseur des „Springsteen On Broadway“ NETFLIX Films – waren am Mittwoch (19. Dezember 2018) in den Sirius/XM Radio Studios in New York City zu Gast, um eine neue Folge des „E Street Radio“ Sendeformats zu produzieren. Bruce Springsteen rief ganz überraschend in der Sendeanstalt an und stellte sich einem ausführlichen Interview.

Unter anderem sagte Bruce Springsteen zum NETFLIX Film folgendes:

„Thom [Zimny] just did an incredible job on that. I had the easy part: I did the same thing I do every night. Thom’s planning and the meticulous shooting of the thing was just incredible. I was a very, very, very small part of the editing process, in that I believe I had one suggestion. That’s how much Thom nailed it. I saw it, I had one very small suggestion, and then it was done. The incredible look of the film was exactly what we wanted, and the measured approach to the directing… that’s all a part of Thom’s mastery, and I have to thank him for it.“

Ausserdem kündigte Bruce Springsteen an, dass er womöglich seine Bühnenshow in anderen Städten – zum Beispiel London – aufführen könnte.

„At some point, I’ll probably get back to this or something like it in the future, because it was such an enjoyable format to work in. Plus, it was an extension of my talents and my abilities to address and communicate with my audience. It’s another way of doing that, and I think it will be a template in the future. A way I’ll be able to communicate besides the live shows and other things. It’ll find its purpose again somewhere down the road. We talked about taking it to London and some other places, some other cities in the States.“

Springsteen On Broadway (Album, 2018)

Seit dem 14. Dezember 2018 – ist das “Springsteen On Broadway” Soundtrack Album erhältlich. Auf 2 Disks – bzw. 4 LPs – findet man Songs und Geschichten, die Bruce Springsteen im Rahmen seines 236 Auftritte andauernden Broadway Gastspiels performt hat.

Am 28. April 2017 nahm Bruce Springsteen an einer Diskussion im „Beacon Theater“ in New York, NY teil. Der „Boss“ stellte sich im Rahmen des „Tribeca Film Festivals“ den Fragen des amerikanischen Schauspielers Tom Hanks.

Gestern war Bruce Springsteen im „Pollak Theater“ auf dem Campus der „Monmouth University“ in West Long Branch, NJ zu Gast (wir berichteten bereits hier).

Der 67jährige Künstler plauderte mit Robert Santelli, seines Zeichens Grammy Museum Executive Director, und stellte sich für 90 Minuten den vielen Fragen aus dem Publikum.

Unter anderem kündigte Bruce Springsteen an, dass die Monmouth Universität dauerhafte Heimat des „Bruce Springsteen Archives“ und des „Center for American Music“ werden wird:

Monmouth University today announced a new collaborative partnership to establish The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music. Through the collaboration, Monmouth University becomes the official archival repository for Springsteen’s written works, photographs, periodicals, and artifacts. The announcement was made during “A Conversation with Bruce Springsteen,” held this evening at the University’s Pollak Theatre.

The new collaboration broadens an existing relationship between Springsteen and Monmouth University, which has served as the home of the Bruce Springsteen Special Collection since 2011. The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music will preserve and promote the legacy of Bruce Springsteen and his role in American music, while honoring and celebrating icons of American music like Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, Hank Williams, Frank Sinatra, and others. The expanded partnership will help to more deeply integrate the history and inspiration of American music into the curriculum and research experience at Monmouth. It will also serve to bolster an already highly successful music industry program at the university, one of only nine university affiliates of the GRAMMY Museum.

Bruce Springsteen – Nebraska (Album, 1982)

Ausserdem sprach Bruce Springsteen über seine Studioalben und sagte, dass ihm „Nebraska“ (1982) und „Tunnel of Love“ (1987) noch immer sehr am Herzen liegen. Ferner gab er zu Protokoll, dass viele Songs, die auf „Devils & Dust“ im Jahre 2005 veröffentlicht wurden, nach diversen Shows der „Ghost of Tom Joad Solo Tour“ in Hotelzimmern komponiert wurden.

Darüber hinaus verriet er den Zuhörern, dass seine Ehefrau Patti Scialfa hart an ihrem vierten Studioalbum arbeitet.

Selbstverständlich wurde er auch zu seinem angekündigten Soloalbum angesprochen. Bruce Springsteen wich dieser Frage jedoch aus und wollte sich nicht zu einem Veröffentlichungstermin äussern.
