Das Bruce Springsteen Management lässt derzeit keine Möglichkeit aus, die Werbetrommel für das neue Album „Working on a Dream“ zu rühren.
Ab dem 27. Januar ’09 ist es XBOX360, PlayStation3 und Nintendo Wii Besitzern möglich, zwei Tracks für das Activision Musikspiel „Guitar Hero World Tour“ kostenlos herunterzuladen.

Free Springsteen On Guitar Hero World Tour
The Boss is going digital. Two songs by Bruce Springsteen will be appearing on Guitar Hero World Tour next month and it won’t cost you a dime.

From January 27th through February 4th, „Born To Run“ and „My Lucky Day“ will be available for free for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii versions of World Tour. Never heard of „My Lucky Day“? It’s a song off Springsteen’s upcoming album, Working On a Dream, which will hits stores on January 27th.

After February 4th, the two songs will presumably be available for $2 apiece.

Dear Friends and Fans,

Some notes on the beginnings of Working on a Dream. During the last weeks of mixing Magic, we recorded a song called „What Love Can Do.“ It was sort of a „love in the time of Bush“ meditation. It was a great track but felt more like a first song of new record rather than something that would fit on Magic. So our producer Brendan O’Brien said, „Hey, let’s make another one right now!“ I thought, no, I haven’t done that since my first two records came out in the same year. And usually I don’t write that quickly. But that night I went back to my hotel in Atlanta and over the next week, I wrote several songs („This Life,“ „My Lucky Day,“ „Life Itself,“ along with „Good Eye“ and „Tomorrow Never Knows“) that formed the beginnings of our new album. Excited by the sounds we made on Magic I found there was more than enough fuel for the fire to keep going. Brendan and I demo’d these songs before we left the studio and agreed we’d somehow find time during the touring year to get this record made.

Over the past 10 years with Brendan, our ability to get records done and to work on a variety of projects at the same time (Yes, we can multi-task!) has allowed us to get a steadier stream of our best music out to our fans. This is something I’ve always wanted to do. We found time to book sessions, get the band while it was hot off the road, write and record a new record, while giving our audience what I hope was some of the best E Street shows we’ve ever done. We’re excited about you hearing this music and I just wanted to drop a line about how it all started. Have a great holiday and we’ll see you in the New Year!

Gestern Abend fand im „Count Basie Theatre“ in Red Bank, NJ das „Hope Concert 2008“ statt. Mit von der Partie waren nicht nur Jon Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny, Gary US Bonds, Bobby Bandiera und Brian Fallon, sondern auch Bruce Springsteen.

Under the Musical Direction of Bobby Bandiera, The Hope Concert is an annual community benefit concert produced by the Count Basie Theatre starring an All-Star lineup of Jersey Shore musicians. All the musicians are volunteering their time and the theatre is donating its venue so that as close to 100% of the proceeds as possible may benefit the charity.

This year’s beneficiary is the Parker Family Health Center in Red Bank, a volunteer-based, free health care facility where Monmouth County residents without medical insurance or the ability to pay can be cared for with the same level of dignity and confidentiality afforded in the private sector.

Die Bruce Springsteen Wordtour 2009 wird nicht wie ursprünglich geplant in Europa beginnen. Angeblich wird Bruce Springsteen im Februar / März ’09 einige Gigs in den USA spielen und erst im Sommer ’09 zu uns kommen.

Die genauen Konzerttermine sollen im kommenden Jahr veröffentlicht werden. Selbstverständlich wird Bruce Springsteen auch in Deutschland Station machen. Im Gespräch sind Berlin (Max Schmeling Halle oder O₂ World Arena) und Frankfurt (Festhalle).

Ausserdem sind einige Festivalauftritte geplant. Wenn man den englischen Presseberichten Glauben schenken kann, wird Bruce Springsteen Ende Juni ’09 auf dem „Glastonbury Festival“ auftreten. Ausserdem soll der Boss mit seiner E Street Band auch auf dem „Bonnaroo Festival“ performen:

GLASTONBURY boss MICHAEL EAVIS has gone back to basics in a bid to banish the bad memories of this year’s event. The choice of rapper JAY-Z as festival headliner back in June angered thousands. And donating the cherished Friday night headline slot to relative youngsters KINGS OF LEON raised a few eyebrows. So, in order to avoid any more ill-feeling, the dairy farmer is taking a step back in time to wheel out some big guns. YOUNG and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN will join ageing Brit-poppers BLUR as bill-toppers at next year’s event.
