Nach einer dreiwöchigen Zwangspause setzte Bruce Springsteen am gestrigen Abend – 12. Juni 2024 – seine „World Tour“ mit einer Show im „Cívitas Metropolitano“ fort.

Bruce Springsteen musste wegen gesundheitlicher Probleme vier Konzerte seiner Europatournee verschieben. Der „Boss“ gab auf Instagram an, Probleme mit der Stimme zu haben. In Folge dessen mussten die Shows in Marseille (25. Mai 2024), Prag (28. Mai 2024) sowie Mailand (1. und 3. Juni 2024) auf das kommende Jahr verschoben werden (wir berichteten hier).

Das „Cívitas Metropolitano“ ist ein Fussballstadion in der spanischen Hauptstadt Madrid. Die 70.000 Zuschauer fassende Arena an der Avenida de Luis Aragonés wurde zwischen 1990 und 1994 errichtet und ist Heimspielstätte des spanischen Fussballerstligisten „Atletico Madrid“. Bruce Springsteen spielte am 7. Juni 1999 sowie am 19. Mai 2003 bereits zwei Gigs in diesem Stadion.

Am späten Nachmittag probte die E Street Band im „Cívitas Metropolitano“ mit „Prove It All Night“, „The River“, „Lonesome Day“, „Ghosts“, „No Surrender“, „Two Hearts“, „Darkness on the Edge of Town“, „Frankie Fell In Love“ und „Something in the Night“ neun Songs.

Gegen 21:15 Uhr begann die Show und die E Street Band präsentierte ihren spanischen Fans ein dreistündiges Konzert mit insgesamt 30 Songs. Unter anderem feierten „Frankie Fell In Love“ und das John Fogerty Cover „Rockin‘ All Over The World“ aus dem Jahre 1975 ihre Tourpremieren.


Bruce Springsteen – High Hopes (Album, 2014)

„Frankie Fell In Love“ wurde im Jahre 2013 für das 15. Bruce Springsteen Studioalbum „Magic“ komponiert. Schlussendlich wurde der Song auf dem 2014er Album „High Hopes“ erstveröffentlicht.

Bruce Springsteen sagte in einem Rolling Stone Interivew folgendes:

„That one was one of those songs that’s fun to write and might have come out somewhere around Magic. Then I recut pieces of it, certainly the drums. Actually, I know what that was: that was a song I had that we cut for Magic and didn’t use the version that we cut. I also had a great demo of it. I have demos of most of these records that I make on my own, and once in a while you don’t beat one. That was one of those. I just loved it lyrically, and I thought that it’s a great thing for Steve and myself. It’s just a great little Faces-type rock song. I always had it sitting around as one of my favorite straight-up E Street Band rock songs, so we went in and did some new cutting on that with Steve and drums and bass.“
