Bruce Springsteen eröffnete die zweite und letzte Show im „Brisbane Entertainment Centre“ mit einer Weltpremiere. „High Hopes“ wurde von Tim Scott McConnell im Jahre 1987 komponiert und im selben Jahr von seiner Band „Havalina“ als Single veröffentlicht.

Bruce Springsteen spielte den Song erstmals im Herbst 1994 mit seiner 1992/1993er Tourband (Roy Bittan [Keyboard], Shane Fontane [Gitarre], Tommy Sims [Bass], Zachary Alford [Drums] und Bobby King [Background Vocals]) ein.

Ende 1994 trommelte Springsteen die E Street Band wieder zusammen und mietete die „Hit Factory“ in New York City, NY an, um „High Hopes“ sowie weitere Bonustracks für das anstehende „Greatest Hits“ Album aufzunehmen. Letztendlich entschlossen sich die Musiker, den Coversong nicht auf dem „Best Of“ Album zu veröffentlichen. Stattdessen wurde „High Hopes“ für den Dokumentarfilm „Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – Blood Brothers“ verwendet.

Darüber hinaus begeisterte der „Boss“ die knapp 14.000 Zuschauer mit „Incident on 57th Street“ (veröffentlicht auf The Wild, the Innocent and the E-Street Shuffle, 1973), „Racin‘ in the Street“ (Darkness on the Edge of Town, 1978) und „Blinded By The Light“ (Greetings from Asbury Park, 1973).
